Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kachu collects, why it is used, and the choices people have when they plan, live, and remember catchups.

Who we are

Kachu is a social utility for real-world catchups. For privacy questions, contact support@kachu.app.

Information we collect

Account information such as phone number, display name, profile details, authentication provider identifiers, and account settings.
Catchup content such as event names, times, locations entered by hosts, invite codes, participants, posts, comments, announcements, photos, and memory content.
Device and app information such as push notification tokens, device identifiers needed for safety, app version, logs, diagnostics, crash data, and approximate technical data.
Usage and analytics events such as sign-in, onboarding, catchup creation, invite actions, post actions, notification interactions, and app performance events.
Support and safety communications including reports, deletion requests, and messages to support.

How we use information

To create accounts, authenticate users, and keep accounts secure.
To create, show, and manage catchups, invites, participants, posts, photos, comments, announcements, notifications, and memories.
To send push notifications and in-app notifications about activity in catchups a user belongs to.
To prevent abuse, enforce safety rules, investigate reports, and protect users.
To understand app reliability and improve the product using analytics, diagnostics, and crash information.
To respond to support requests, privacy requests, and legal obligations.

How information is shared

Catchup content is shared with people who are members of that catchup or who have valid access through an invite flow.
Profile information may be visible to people who interact with you in catchups, posts, comments, or memories.
We use service providers such as Firebase and Google Cloud to host authentication, storage, database, notifications, analytics, functions, and diagnostics.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, to enforce terms, or to respond to valid legal requests.
We do not sell personal information.

Photos, posts, and catchup memories

Kachu is built around shared event spaces. If you upload photos, notes, posts, comments, or other content to a catchup, other members of that catchup may be able to view, save, or interact with that content. Think carefully before posting content that includes other people.

Retention

We keep account and catchup data while an account is active or while it is needed to operate Kachu, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or protect safety. Deleted account data is removed from active systems where practical, but some information may remain for limited periods in backups, logs, safety records, legal records, or data other users still need inside shared catchups.

Your choices

You can update your profile in the app.
You can leave catchups where the app allows it.
You can delete your account in the app from Profile settings.
You can request deletion or privacy help by contacting support@kachu.app.
You can manage push notification permissions in your device settings.

Children

Kachu is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes

We may update this policy as Kachu changes. We will update the effective date and, when required, provide additional notice.
